An energetic theme for the collective and an individual reading for each of the signs across May
Theme for May: The Chosen Welcome
May echoes January—and the year at large—in its themes of welcome.
Many of us have been working with our core programming: the networks of experience and belief shaped in the womb, in childhood, through ancestry, and perhaps even deeper timelines. As we tend to these inner fabrics, we begin to welcome ourselves back into the world—releasing ideas and identities that were never ours to carry.
As the world blooms, May invites celebration of the work already done. But it also asks for coherence:
What are you welcoming onto the dance floor with you this spin?
And what are you ready to leave behind?
Choice is an important aspect here, when we see it we can heal it but more so when we see it we can choose. Maya Angelou said when we know better we do better, forgive yourself for the times you didn't know any better and let yourself see things clearly now. Let yourself hold the magnitude of choice, the gift and the curse of sight. It is the job of the adult to see, and it's not always easy. We are tending our inner children now so that it is not them that has to hold all this knowing, but the adult in us. This can sometimes activate grief - but the world needs us now, dreamers and warriors - adults who are willing to see and to choose.
There’s an alchemical rhythm moving through May. We’re invited to notice how energy shifts into form: how thought becomes matter, and how the things we create and surround ourselves with shape our thoughts and emotions in return.
This month feels hot. Maybe the weather reflects that, but there’s also a sense of fire in the air. Quick decisions and instinct over hesitation.
If you knew you would need to choose in the moment, how would you prepare?
For me, it’s about stepping into wonder—into possibility—so that when the moment comes, I’m already aligned with expansion rather than fear.
We may also find ourselves rethinking beauty—individually and collectively. Not just how things look, but what feels true, alive, and worth tending.
Are you feeling the call of the artist?
This energy is becoming more present as we consider how to hold Uranus in Gemini, a time that could easily become too tech-driven, too mental, too fast. What feels more balancing is the return to the lyrical - to the artist, the poet, the imaginal field. When we bring that creative, expressive intelligence into dialogue with the logical systems and upgrades Gemini offers, we can access a harmonised approach to what's next.
The dream may not be about subtracting the tech, but perhaps adding the imaginal…

Tarotscopes:
Read your sun, moon and rising sign for a fuller picture, it can be nice to read these at the beginning and end of the month. See the theme of the month to situate your reading.
Each sign has an invitation to work with a colour, shape, plant or otherwise. 'Work with them' by taking time with them energetically or physically: think about them/look at them/ dream on them - see what arises. All energies carry wisdom. If you want to work further with your reading feel free to book a 1:1 and let me know you'd like to deepen into the mythos of your month ahead.
Aquarius
This is a month of manifestation through clarity of intention rather than effort alone. You are being asked to observe where your energy is being dispersed, and where it can be gathered with greater precision. There is a refinement happening in how you create, think, and direct your attention. Beneath this, a softer layer is present—the inner child seeking safety in expression rather than performance. Where can you drop the need to make saftey your primary goal and in doing so hold the child that needs to just live and be? A new dream, a bigger dream is takign root. Integration comes through simplicity and focus. Connect with materials and colours gold and silver, the image of the dew-laden web and the Damascus rose.
Capricorn
A profound inner dismantling is occurring, particularly around emotional expectations, legacy patterns, and inherited definitions of success or belonging. This is not a surface-level shift—it reaches into deeper psychological structures. You are being asked to release what is no longer aligned with your emotional truth, even if it once felt like identity. In its place, something more expansive is trying to form, though it may not yet have clear shape. Work with the image of the abacus, anything ancient, architecture that feels beautiful to you and nourish with food that feels good and hydrating.
Sagittarius
There is a deep lesson unfolding around balance between responsibility and emotional connection. You may be carrying more than is sustainable, particularly in roles where you feel needed or relied upon. This is a month of recalibration, where reciprocity becomes essential. You are learning that devotion does not require depletion, and that meaningful connection cannot thrive in imbalance. There is nourishment available if you allow yourself to receive it. Connect to waters, soft pink, pearl and rosary.
Aries
This month carries a threshold energy where old frameworks of belief and identity are being loosened. There may be a sense of tension between what has been taught or inherited and what your own inner fire is asking you to explore. You are being guided back into trust with your instincts, even when they move you away from convention. There is a softening happening underneath the intensity, a reminder that guidance does not always arrive through structure, but through sensation, intuition, and subtle knowing. Let curiosity lead where certainty once ruled. Work with cats, jet black and bone white this month.
Taurus
There is a deep restructuring of what stability means for you this month. What once felt secure may now feel like it is either dissolving or needing to be redefined. You are being asked to examine where attachment has replaced nourishment, and where control has replaced trust. At the same time, there is a powerful creative force emerging that wants to rebuild your foundations from a more authentic place. Something old must be released in order for something more aligned to take root. Work with the planting of trees, espectially the Beech.
Cancer
There is a closing of an old emotional cycle taking place, one that may carry echoes of grief, memory, or past attachment. This is not a collapse, but a release—an ending that clears space for intention to become more conscious and deliberate. You are being asked to choose what you continue to carry forward, and what must be laid down so that you are no longer living through inherited emotional patterns. Healing here comes through clarity, not nostalgia. Work with blank paper, light blue colour, the image of the sword.
Virgo
There is a surrender happening this month, though it may not feel gentle at first. You are being asked to release the need to fix, perfect, or control outcomes, and instead enter a more embodied trust in timing. Strength here is not force—it is restraint, patience, and softness under pressure. There is also a deep return to self-worth that is not dependent on external validation, but rooted in inner recognition. Connect with red rose, hawthorn leaf, tourmaline and clearing using magnets.
Scorpio
This month carries intensity, but not without direction. There is a softening occurring around areas of resistance, control, or emotional guarding. You are being asked to loosen your grip—not because you are unsafe, but because holding on too tightly is blocking intimacy with life itself. Beneath the tension, there is a rising creative force that wants to move through you more freely. Release becomes the doorway to renewal. Connect with the colour and materium of emerald, pen and paper and fire.
Pisces
This month asks you to find balance between holding on and allowing expansion. You may feel a pull to protect your energy or resources, while simultaneously sensing that something new is ready to unfold. There is no need to rush — growth is happening steadily, even if it feels subtle. Trust in your longer-term vision and allow yourself to look ahead with quiet confidence. What you are building now has the potential to carry you further than you expect. Work with the rainbow, the frequency of balance and get your hands into the soil where possible.
Gemini
This is a month of internal reckoning between the mind and the body, where thought patterns may feel heavy or looping, but also ready to be seen clearly for what they are. There is an initiation into courage here—specifically the courage to stay present with discomfort without escaping into distraction or overthinking. You are learning how to remain with yourself even when clarity has not fully arrived yet. In doing so, something in you begins to reorganise from within. Work with the pen or brush, the archetype of the storm and the deer.
Leo
A sudden shift in relational dynamics may bring revelation this month, particularly around connection, reciprocity, and emotional truth. Something that was previously unstable or unclear is being brought into visibility. This is not destruction for its own sake, but disruption as awakening. You are being asked to relate more honestly—to others and to yourself—without the performance of control or certainty. Authentic connection becomes the central theme. Connect to soil and earth, pay attention to your footwear and call in the aura of gold.
Libra
You are in a period of internal realignment, where restlessness may arise not because something is wrong, but because something within you is seeking deeper truth. Clarity is not coming from avoidance or delay, but from direct engagement with what you already know. There is a strengthening of boundaries happening—subtle but important—where you begin to discern what is yours and what is not. Connect with shrines and altars, temples too, as well as lions mane mushroom.
